Our client is a US media company looking to recruit a sole UK lawyer with a view to building a team as they expand both in the UK and Europe. They are looking for a lawyer c.5-10yrs' PQE from a commercial in-house background, ideally within the advertising/PR sector.

You must be able to work independently and manage projects with limited oversight, a high attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work. In addition, you must be a problem solver who proactively identifies substantive issues and presents viable alternative solutions. You will serve as a business partner to the business team and a collaborative colleague within the legal department. You must also be highly efficient and able to deal with a large volume of work, possess strong analytical skills, and be able to learn quickly. Exceptional written and oral communication skills are essential as is the ability to work with individuals at all levels both internally and externally.

On a day-to-day basis, your role will involve drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex commercial contracts such as professional services agreements, procurement and vendor supply agreements, confidentiality agreements, licensing arrangements, settlement agreements and other form agreements.

You will ideally have c. 5-10 years' experience, ideally gained in a similar in-house environment. Strong private practice experience post qualification from a reputable law firm is essential. You must have a working knowledge and experience in commercial contracts, intellectual property, corporate and employment law.
