A unique and fantastic opportunity has arisen for a talented lawyer with broad transactional and projects experience in the energy or power sectors, to join the Business Development & Zero Carbon team of one of the world's 'supermajor' energy companies as they continue their transition from traditional sources of power into renewable and low carbon energy sources. Renewable power, bio-gas and low carbon products are central to the business's new strategy and net carbon ambitions and as such the dedicated legal team is experiencing ever increasing demands for its services.

Reporting to the Managing Counsel for the Business Development & Zero Carbon team, you will advise and support five growing business groups across the newly formed Gas and Low Carbon global businesses. In this particularly varied role you will provide strategic advice and counsel to senior management on significant transactions, projects and key legal developments affecting existing businesses and supporting growth. This will include supporting on M&A and other transactional activity, major projects development and financing arrangements, as well as corporate structuring and corporate governance matters in relation to joint ventures and associated facilities.

Ideally, you will be 4+ PQE with strong post-qualification experience in a reputable law firm and/or as an in-house counsel (working in the power industry). A proven record of leading or providing significant contribution to the successful completion of numerous transactions/projects will be required. Experience in hydrogen, CCUS and offshore wind projects will be looked upon favourably. The ideal candidate will be an effective operator, confident in providing prompt and commercially focused advice in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
